In the present scenario, when lifestyle associated non communicable diseases (Cardio vascular ailments, Diabetes, stroke and mental disorders including suicidality) are leading cause of morbidity and mortality, it has become the need of hour to promote life style interventions like Physical Activity and Healthy Nutrition.

Our society envisions an India where….

  • --> Each and every person understands the need of NCD prevention for himself and for the nation as a whole.
  • --> Each inhabitant has sufficient information about simple lifestyle interventions to prevent occurrence of NCDs.
  • --> Our society envisions a nation where opportunities for being physically active are available to all.
  • --> Our Society envisions an India where morbidity/mortality due to NCDs is minimal, specially in young population and where geriatric population is able to enjoy functionality autonomy and good health to the maximum extent possible.

    Our mission and Our objectives:

  • --> To reinforce national and regional physical activity promotion and contribute to noncommunicable diseases prevention
  • --> To call for national awareness of and attention to physical activity as an important positive health determinant, and vice versa ie. lack of physical activity and sedentary lifestyles as determinant that can lead to various non communicable diseases.
  • --> To promote physical activity as a universal health primacy by educating and motivating the community regarding health benefits of regular physical activity in the light of science and research.
  • --> To encourage and inspire national policies and action to promote Physical Activity and other life style related interventions.
  • --> To develop personal skills of all Indians, so that they may easily practice and may get benefit of healthy lifestyle interventions including Physical Activity.
  • --> To strengthen community action to promote Physical Activity.
  • --> To play a central role in advocating physical activity promotion, addressing the challenges to promote physical activity and overcoming barriers to action.
  • --> To contribute in making physical activity as an intervention visible in a broader context of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) prevention and control, health equity and development.
  • --> Ensuring a health promotion approach is integrated in all activities related to Physical Activity like social capital building, infrastructure development and empowerment, amongst others.
